UPSTART: Free At Home Preschool

This year my son has been enrolled in UPSTART. UPSTART is for Utah children the school year before they go to Kindergarten. Participants agree to use the program at home at least 15 minutes a day, 5 days a week.
We actually end up doing it 35 minutes/day, 20 minutes of reading and 15 minutes of math and science. It has been so good for him. I like that it has taught him to write his letters really well, and he's starting to read and recognize sight words.
I received this e-mail and thought I'd pass on the word to those who are interested in participating this fall.

We are actively accepting pre-registrations for UPSTART for children entering Kindergarten in Fall 2013. Interested families can pre-register their children online or by calling our friendly support team.

Online - visit UPSTART's website at www.utahupstart.org. Then click on the red pre-register button which can be found on the home page. Once you've clicked on the button, you will be taken to the brief online form.

Now is a great time to buy Valentines for next year and also grab some candy at a great price!

Free Card from Cardstore.com TODAY ONLY

Today Cardstore.com is giving away 10,000 free greeting cards when you use code CCC2020 at checkout. I just barely ordered mine and it only took about 5 minutes. You shouldn't have to pay anything not even shipping as long as you choose the option to have it shipped to yourself instead of the recipient.

Free cards are one of my favorite things to get.

Handmade Valentine Ideas

I started getting the Family Fun magazine a while back. I was able to snag it on a really great deal through plum district. Anyways both of these ideas came from it. There are also variations of both on pininterest.

For my daughter...
It said to take the picture with a pipe that was about 3 inches round ours was a little bigger but we had it on hand so we didn't have to buy one, so I think it still turned out okay. I also ordered the prints through Shutterfly with a promotional gift card I had :)

For my son...
These are mad lib valentines. We bought two mad lib books and tore out one page for each child. We rolled them, wrapped a piece of 3x3 printed paper around them, and then tied a little note on them. (by the way I got the paper for this one free a Michael's with the coupon we had linked to print last week) To make them a little more fun we also added a mechanical pencil. The notes say-"I am MAD about you!, I can't LIB without you!, and You have MAD skills!"

Albertsons Round Up Coupon Deals

All week long Albertsons is having a round up coupon event. All coupons that are under $1 will round up and be accepted at the face value of $1. This is a great way to get some use out of those .25, .35, and .50 coupons.

I haven't really been feeling well this week, but I did manage to make a quick stop to grab a few things. I'm hoping to go back in before Tuesday and hopefully find a few more deals to snag. Here is what I was able to get on the first trip. 11 items for $10.96.

I used the following coupons-ivory .35/1 (x7), dawn dish soap .25/1 (x1), dawn dish soap .50/1 (x1), axe deodorant $1/1 (x1), super soft pretzel coupon .50/1 (x1). *all were coupons from the Sunday Paper *
